Sassetti Pertimali
It was just seven years ago that Angelo
Sassetti gave birth to the Pertimali estate that has become
so well-known today. Believe it or not, this artisanal producer
used the small farmhouse (known as Pertimali) that was already
lying on the lower Northern slopes of Montalcino to build
his winery in, and from this and his 7 hectares under vine
he somehow manages to create one of the greatest Brunello's
in all of Tuscany. From the start Sassetti was intent on
being involved in every step of the winemaking process,
as all of the vineyards are tended to by hand - a tradition
that he still practices today. However, he now has the assistance
of his sons Luciano and Lorenzo to aid him in an operation
that is growing day by day, with good reason.
